Reprint wrappers and holiday skins
9 June 2026
Holiday skins are cheerful and they are also filing problems. A Marvel NFT comic that returns in a winter frame, a birthday badge, or a metallic border can look like a brand-new object in a grid of thumbnails. Underneath, the interiors and sometimes the edition family are a known reprint.
Our reprint-wave logs give the wrapper its own line and then point back to the parent edition. Collectors who only sort by cover color end up with three “unique” rows that are one story wearing costumes.
We do not sneer at seasonal editions. Some wrappers are true separate mints. The note’s job is to say which is which, with dates. If a wrapper is undocumented, we write “unverified skin” and stop. Guessing a print size to sound confident would break the point of a rarity note.
Email the desk with a screenshot of the wrapper if the badge is hard to read. We will not collect that image through a website form; send it as ordinary email.
